As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence this 4th of July, please review the fireworks faqs for the safety of yourself and the Commmunity

  • They cannot be ignited or discharged on public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
  • They cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building
  • They cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building
  • They cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure, whether or not a person is actually present.
  • Do not light off fireworks on City Streets or alleyways
  • Be cautious in the excessive heat, fire hazards are easily started on roofs and dry patches of grass and land due to the dry days
  • They cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug.FIREWORKS SAFETY

Public Notice-Zoning Hearing Board

Please take notice that the Zoning Hearing Board of the City of Aliquippa will conduct a public hearing on 6/29/2026 at 6:30 PM at the Aliquippa City Building, 581 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa, PA 15001 on a request submitted by St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church for property situated at 2200 Irwin Street, Aliquippa Tax Parcel No. 08-046-0500.000 for a variance for handrails on the front steps of the church. Full application is available for the public inspection during normal business hours at the Aliquippa City Building. All interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to be heard prior to the final deliberation by the Aliquippa Zoning Board.

Which Repellent Should I Use

It’s almost mosquito time!  I just wanted to reach out and let you know that West Nile Techs will be out collecting samples beginning in April.  Adult mosquito surveillance will begin in May and continue through October.  All our traps are deployed for approximately 24 hours, and all traps are clearly marked with identification.  I have attached a flyer that shows the traps we employ for adult sampling.  Since ticks are out and about everywhere already, I have also attached some information on choosing repellents for ticks and mosquitoes.
