Street Superintendent – City Of Aliquippa
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Street Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of all public works operations, (except those that fall under the authority of the Utility) including but not limited to streets, fleet maintenance, garbage pickup, recycling, snow removal, construction oversight, and municipal, reports directly to the City Administrator, works closely with the City Council, department heads, staff, and the general public. This full-time position is a salary position and will be based on qualifications. Major responsibilities and duties include performing administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating, collective bargaining, and overseeing the employees of the Department of Public Works. Summary duties include supervising street department employees, either directly or through subordinates, determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting workflow, issuing written and oral instructions. Understanding the operation of major vehicles and equipment is necessary and having Class B CDL, (ABC is a plus) to operate all heavy equipment is a plus. Must be very capable in using computer software Microsoft and other specific job required software and prepare reports, assist in the preparations of bids, prepare, review, record keeping and report budgets. A bachelor’s or technical certification civil engineer is a plus.
