Recreational Fires

 

City of Aliquippa Rules for Recreational Fires

  • Only clean dry wood products are to be burned, no treated or painted lumber is permitted.
  • Fire size is limited to three (3) foot in diameter and two (2) foot in height.
  • Fire location no closer than 25 feet from a structure or combustible material. Conditions that could cause fire to spread must be removed prior to ignition.
  • Fires in patio fire pits or chimineas must be in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
  • Fires are not permitted within ten (10) feet of any street, public way or property line.
  • All fires shall be constantly attended until extinguished and
  • An approved method of extinguishing fire shall be on site for immediate utilization ( i.e. Fire Extinguisher with minimum 4A rating, garden hose, water barrel, sand, dirt or water truck).
  • The Fire Chief or his designee may order a fire extinguished if it is deemed unsafe or a nuisance.

Reminder- Dumpster Permits Are Required

Please be advised that City of Aliquippa Ordinance 9 of 2010 requires every person, firm or corporation desiring to utilize any dumpster, open-top container, portable outdoor storage facility or compaction container on a public street or private property within the City of Aliquippa must apply for the permit required by submitting an application. We require a $25.00 fee with the application. Please submit the application & fee to The City of Aliquippa, 581 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa, PA 15001.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Handicap Parking Permits

 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP YOUR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AND HAVE NOT PAID $25.00 FEE for 2021, PLEASE FILL OUT THE RENEWAL FORM AND SUBMIT THE YEARLY FEE. THE STREET DEPARTMENT HAS STARTED REMOVING HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGNS. THANK YOU.

 

 

Please be advised that Per Section §253-67 (Amended 11-3-1999 by Ordinance 7 of 1999) Handicapped Parking applications will expire after 12 months from the date sign is installed. A renewal application fee of $25.00 is due per year. The Chief of Police will not accept the application for renewal unless it is also accompanied by a sworn document containing the following averments:

 

  1. The applicant continues to be disabled as evidenced by documentation submitted and signed by applicant’s treating physician.
  2. The applicant continues to drive an automobile or is being driven by another identified individual because of applicant’s disability.
  3. The applicant resides at the same address.

The City of Aliquippa Code Enforcement Officer is currently reviewing all handicapped parking spaces and will be enforcing renewal on a yearly basis.

 

  • Section 5: Failure to File a Completed Application Failure to file a completed initial application or a timely application for renewal shall result in such application being denied or not renewed. In the event an individual fails to file a completed application for re-certification within the time allowed, that is, on an annual basis prior to expiration of the individuals eligibility, the right to such sign shall be forfeited and the sign shall be removed by the City.

Please complete the attached Renewal Application for Handicapped Parking and submit a fee of $25.00 payable to The City of Aliquippa, 581 Franklin Ave. Aliquippa, PA 15001, within 30 days if you intend to keep your handicapped parking space. Your cooperation is appreciated in advance.
