The City of Aliquippa is advertising for the position of Financial Officer.

Interested parties should have a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Accounting, Business Administration (with an Accounting concentration), or an Associate Accounting Degree (24 to 36 credit hours) with at least ten years of experience working in an administrative personnel capacity. The interested candidate should also have substantial experience working with business computer applications such as fund accounting software(s), specific payroll software and management, Microsoft Office Suite Word and Excel, and specialized computer-applied software for municipal implementation and reports. Accounting skills include understanding of GAAP, government GASB, GAAS, charts of accounts, recording of general ledgers, accounting adjusting entries, recording (payroll, payables, receivables) accounting, pension reporting, year-end closings, financial reporting to various agencies, preparing periodic financial budget reports for council and auditors. Excellent analytical and communication skills are a must. I will require some flexible hours for committee meetings, as requested.
